Krishnamurti Padhdhati, popularly known as KP Astrology, is an advanced system developed by the late Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti. It refines classical Vedic astrology by placing primary emphasis on Nakshatra Sub-Lords rather than just Sign Lords or Rashi.
Key Principles of KP Astrology
- Placidus House Cusp System: Unlike equal house systems, KP uses the Placidus house system where house cusps start at exact unequal degree divisions based on geographical latitude.
- Star Lord and Sub-Lord: Each Nakshatra (13°20') is further subdivided into 9 unequal parts proportional to the Vimshottari Dasha period of the planets. The ruler of this subdivision is called the Sub-Lord.
- KP Prashna (Horary): When birth details are unknown or uncertain, a horary number between 1 and 249 can be selected to cast a chart and answer specific single-point queries with uncanny precision.
